Vulcan #3
For the story so far, see yesterday's post Vulcan #2. Today's image is generated from $$pixel.value = frac(x)$$ Notice we are using the x coordinate in the formula, so the colors change along the horizontal (x) directions. The colors range from black to a color 2/3rds of the way between green and cyan.
You are probably asking "Why?", or "Come on, Spyke, we expect messy chaotic pictures here, not simple, repeating, color bands". The evasive, but still true, answer is that I am stretching things out. Often when I start a new series I explain everything in the first two, very long. posts. Then I follow with a few post with painfully obvious explantions, such as "this one is green". That is followed by the rest of the series posted without additional words.
I am telling the story of this series, a few paragraphs at a time, from the bottom up. It starts with the simplest of math, generating the simplest pictures.
Simplicity can still be visually appealing. If you want one of these in your favorite colors, let me know. Contact me. I will send you a custom high resolution version.
