Textured Scribbles #2

Textured Scribbles #1

Another short series, Textured Scribbles, starts today. Like Textured Fractals, these started as experiments as part of the Experiment 2023.2 series.

There is a lot of overlap with the previous two series. The textures are borrowed from the Experiment series. The scribbles are contour line from fractals in the Textures Fractals series.

Textured Fractals #9

Metallic coloring with a low iteration fractal. Also something I want to revisit someday.

Textured Fractals #8

Textured Fractals #7

Here are a couple with broken pieces. This could become a separate series in the future.

Textured Fractals #6

Textured Fractals #5

The first of two flat ones.

Textured Fractals #4

A proper study of the topic, with well-known fractal formulas would be interesting. I am just not interested in digging deeper today. So for now, here are a few experiments that scratch the surface of the named topic. Of course the series could be extended in the future.

Textured Fractals #3

The underlaying fractal formulas are some of my personal creations. Obscure and absurd. A series called "Textured Fractals" should start with generally well-known and recognizable fractals.

Textured Fractals #2

This series mixes in fractal elements. I struggled with the decision to put these into a separate Textured Fractals series. The fractal aspect here is incidental, very light-weight. The emphasis is strongly on the textures. Someone without above average experience with fractals may not even notice the fractal-ness here.

Textured Fractals #1

This new series is really a continuation of the Experiment 2023.2 series. I was wrapping up the final pieces, cleaning them up to publish. Then I entered art-mode again, and created over a dozen more pieces to publish.

The Experiment series was getting too long. I decide to start a short new series called Textured Fractals.

Experiment 2023.2 #36

Experiment 2023.2 #35

Two more to wrap up the series.

Experiment 2023.2 #34

I created this near the time I was working on Experiment 2023.2 #14 and related pieces. There is potential here, I like the colors and the pixel size dots and lines are different. But at the time, I chose to explore a reduced palette and solid color blocks.

Experiment 2023.2 #33

Bright diamonds. This idea has potential, but I never got back to it.

Experiment 2023.2 #32

Experiment 2023.2 #31

As often happens, there are a few stragglers that I want to post. I did not find a good place for them in the sequence up to now. So here are a few odds and ends to wrap up this series.

Experiment 2023.2 #30

Today we have similar shapes to the previous, Experiment 2023.2 #29, with a rougher surface.

Experiment 2023.2 #29

This is similar to the previous, Experiment 2023.2 #28. It has thin, fragile, black lines. Here the line follow curves rather than straight line segments,

Experiment 2023.2 #28

Experiment 2023.2 #11 provided the inspiration for today's image. I added texture to a mess of distorted and broken lines and rectangles.

In the earlier image, each layer seemed transparent. As if you could look through each layer and the next was some distance away. Despite the texture, this one look flat. Still interesting, just two very different interpretations of broken lines.
