Mish Mash Rush #5
The experiments described in Mish Mash Rush #2 resulted in about a dozen sets of two to five images each. Each set has a distinct personality and was to become a theme for a new series. Instead of building separate series, I am going to publish all of them in this collection. Hence the "mish mash" in the title.
Mish Mash Rush #4
The experiments described in Mish Mash Rush #2 were largely mash-ups of previous work. I do not mean that finished images were modified or combined. Rather that various design aspects were isolated and then mixed together. That is part of the motivation for "mash" in the series name.
I am not going to go into the details about what design aspects or techniques are used right now. If you have been following this block you may recognize some similarities to previous work.
Mish Mash Rush #2
Back in March I started a series called Experiment 2023.1, and then followed that with Experiment 2023.2. As the name implies, I was experimenting with new techniques, rather than building a themed set.
Those experiments generated a few loosely related collections. While I posted those series, the experiments continued behind the scenes. This series consists of my favorites from those background experiments.
Curve Textures #20
Here are a couple of simple geometric abstractions.
Ironically, I started this series with the intention to create interesting textures, based on simple curves, that I could apply as a background to large flat areas in an image like this.
As the series developed, the textures became less curvy and more jagged and became the foreground focal point.
Now here, the texture is minimal, just a little ridge between color regions.
