Mish Mash Rush #1

This new series picks up near where the previous series left off. I have been busy with other things and I did not realize that the blog had gone dry. I am trying to catch up now.

Curve Textures #21

Curve Textures #20

Here are a couple of simple geometric abstractions.

Ironically, I started this series with the intention to create interesting textures, based on simple curves, that I could apply as a background to large flat areas in an image like this.

As the series developed, the textures became less curvy and more jagged and became the foreground focal point.

Now here, the texture is minimal, just a little ridge between color regions.

I like this "painting on ridges" technique. It works best with a reduced palette, or a low density underlying texture.

And here is Curve Textures #2 recolored.

Curve Textures #14

Here I revisit Curve Textures #12 with coordinated colors.

Curve Textures #13

In this image there is more coordination between the colors and the texture than in the previous.

Several more follow without words. I am just being lazy, and too often I just say what is obvious in the picture.

If you put words in the comments, I will add words to the post.

Curve Textures #3

The background color is just there. It is remotely related to the texture pattern. Right now, I am more interested in the texture / shading. So I did not put much effort into the background colors.
